Fluoride Science / FluorideScience.org offers the following resources to assist health care and public health professionals as well as decision makers in the community who engage in educating the general public regarding the best scientific information available on the use of fluoride:
- Topic Summaries with abstracts of available systematic reviews and bibliographies.
- Critical Appraisals of individual studies with reviewers’ rating of scientific quality
- Critical Review or Commentaries for those studies that do not meet the criteria for critical appraisal and the subjects of controversies
- Interviews with Scientists who have devoted their careers to research fluoride-risks and benefits.
Fluoride Science Operational Manual describes the details of how we develop resources for this website.
To ensure objectivity, transparency, and reproducibility of the review process, the Fluoride Science Quality Assessment Worksheet was developed through a collaborative effort between the University of Albany School of Public Health and the Center for Fluoride Research Analysis. The worksheet includes questions on predefined criteria that guide reviews to examine the study relevance and validity, strengths and weaknesses, level of rigor, and support from other studies.

FluorideScience.org was originally made possible by the Health Research and Services Administration (HRSA) grant (T12HP19335), then maintained by the New York State Oral Health Center of Excellence (OHCE), with endorsement from the American Association of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD). Fluoride Science is now hosted by FluorideExposed.org, but its contents are solely the responsibility of the Center for Fluoride Research Analysis and do not necessarily represent the official view of HRSA, AAPHD, or OHCE.
The Center for Fluoride Research Analysis consists of the editorial board members and editorial manager with extensive records of engagement in research and education.
